We're looking for collaborators

Do you have a favorite analysis tool?

We anticipate that one of the primary ways people will use the DataSpace is to identify and export data for use in other analysis tools. We know that once you've identified data of interest, and maybe taken a quick look at the data in Plot, you'll probably want to export that data to take a closer look or do a more sophisticated analysis. We want to make that process of getting data into your own analysis tools as efficient and user friendly as possible.

The DataSpace team is looking for CAVD members to work with us on a project to enhance the process around exporting data out of DataSpace and importing it into analysis tools. We're looking for individuals who (1) have an idea for an analysis and want to explore the data to answer a scientific question and (2) have experience using analysis tools, such as:

  • JMP
  • PRIZM
  • Tableau
  • Spotfire

For this project, we'll work with you on a paired analysis, where we make sure you get the data you're looking for to conduct an analysis of interest and you'll help us to improve the data import process for all members. Its a win-win! VISC statisticians will be available for consultation to help you with any interpretation or further analyses, and we'll work with you to share your discoveries through blogs and data sharing forums. If you or one of your colleagues is interested, contact [email protected].

There's still an opportunity to apply for some travel funds through the Science Exchange Program, but the deadline to apply for SEP funds is May 22nd.

Have other collaboration ideas?

We'd love to hear from you.
